Welcome/Introductions.

Discussion;

Changes within the Conran Team;

Nurse Associate Michelle is currently in training, (Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship), to become a Practice Nurse. Although you will see her around the practice, it will not be in her role as an NA, but as am RNDA until2027.

Phlebotomist: Katie, our new practice phlebotomist joins the practice in May – to add support to our Nursing and Administrative teams.

Upcoming changes for the years ahead discussion points:

Potential New Triage System – planned for 2026/27 appt requests for all on the day appointments will be triaged, via Nurse Prescriber or alternative Clinician, then allocated to appropriate person/route. The aim is to improve access for all patients.

Appointment Data:

GPAD appointment data 01/01/2026 – 20/04/2026.

Total appts available/Offered: 13389

Total appts Booked: 10581

Cancellations/DNA: 1835

= 2808 total unused appts.

New appointment booking system/appointment mapping will help to improve access and give a more accurate reflection of appointment demand as the data is inaccurate. We are working on a new triage first appt system and updating/changing appt mapping system, to capture data accurately.

Accessible Information Standard:

Ongoing piece of work, focussing on identifying patient communication needs, or needs relating to disability, impairment, sensory loss or any other communication needs, to help improve the way we communicate as a practice and how patients communicate with us. Removing barriers and ensuring patient needs are recorded adequately are being met when communicating with practice and vise versa.

Community Focus – NHS Healthchecks:

Drop in sessions to be available for practice, and at No92, for patients aged 50+ who have no comorbidities, who have missed their NHS check invite.

Clinic dates tba.

NHS App:

Ongoing support available in practice. Drop in sessions to be scheduled (Tuesdays).

Friends and Family Testing: Jan – March 2026.

Patient feedback was very positive for the first quarter of this year.

Self Check-in screen:

We are awaiting the new provider to install the monitor, imminently. This will improve wait times at the reception desk when arriving for an appointment.

PCN Update:

PCN Manager update of ongoing projects and upcoming community events, including new Community Health Centre scheduled for site of old Bernard Manning Club.

Any other business:

PPG member enquired about appointment availability at the Extended Access Clinic and why it isn’t based within the Practice. PCN Manager advised, as it is a PCN wide service – serving all 9 practices, the premises needed to host the clinics has to be larger than the facilities available Conran Medical Centre.
